Not Your Mama's Still Life

Filled with bold pattern, wonky vessels and objects that feel both ancient and strangely modern this series explores our ongoing relationship with the things we collect, display, and assign meaning to. The objects may change over time, but our desire to surround ourselves with beauty, tell stories through our homes, and signal who we are remains remarkably the same.

Part conversation starter, part historical nod, and part decorative rebellion, these works invite you to linger longer and perhaps reconsider what a still life can be.

Think of them as historical references dressed for a much more interesting party.

Stephanie Patton Jones creates paintings that live at the intersection of memory and place.

Investigating the emotional architecture of home - the objects we keep, the rooms that shape us, and the quiet rituals that become identity over time.

Heavily influenced by southern culture, nature and life across changing homes and seasons, this is a recurring thread woven throughout Stephanie's work. She paints with an awareness of how spaces shape identity and how objects quietly document our lives, creating contemporary pieces that continue unfolding withing a collector's home over time.

Stephanie's work has become recognizable for it's expressive color palettes, texture, and ability to transport the viewer to a time or place.

Working primarily in oil Stephanie creates pieces that feel both deeply personal and universally recognizable.

Her recent still life series expands this investigation further. Loud with pattern, symbolism and emotional contrast, the work transforms ordinary domestic objects into contemporary paintings.

The result is work that feels collected rather than decorated. Paintings that hold presence in a room long after the first glance.
